Bespoke Love Story Paintings

Perfect for weddings, engagements, anniversaries, or vow renewals – capture the place your story began, or a moment you both hold dear, in bespoke artwork.

Meaningful, One of a Kind Gifts

Give a gift unlike any other: a personalised artwork, with optional poetry or heartfelt messages written on the reverse of the canvas for an extra special touch.

The Commissioning Journey

The commissioning process starts by choosing a suitable photograph, what textures can be effective and the general composition and size of the wall where it will hang.

Once your canvas has been ordered the general composition is marked out and the textures added. Louisa will send regular images of your piece and two or three stages will be shared before a studio visit is arranged prior to delivery

If its a Wedding Gift
You may choose to have a few personal notes from the guests involved in your commission superimposed on the reverse, hand written notes pasted on the back of your piece, a nice sentiment to remember your day.

Or you may choose to have a poem written on the reverse, many of Louisa’s painting’s start with a Rumi poem or a piece of philosophy noted on the back, like an intention prior to the work commencing.

“Our happy place is White Rocks Beach in Portrush, on the North Antrim coast. My husband and I, along with our
children have had some of our happiest moments there.

Louisa created a painting for our new home in Cheshire and every time I look at it, it evokes those same happy feelings”.

– Mrs Benson

“My husbands loves his rusty angel fish painting placed in his office. He has always loved the ocean and it made the perfect birthday gift”

– Mrs Ainscough

Meet Louisa

Louisa has over 20 years of artistic experience and a rich back catalogue of work to browse, with 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Her mission is to help you capture your “Happy Place” with absolute authenticity, transforming its emotional DNA and unique frequency into a lasting work of art.

Specialising in landscape and mixed-media painting, Louisa has spent years creating bespoke artworks inspired by her clients’ most cherished places. Her pieces have attracted the attention of celebrities, art critics, private collectors, and auction houses alike.

A defining element of Louisa’s artistry is her unique technique, creating textured layers using natural materials such as leaves and foliage collected on her long walks. Louisa also adds a personal touch by writing poetry, philosophical reflections, or heartfelt messages from gift-givers on the reverse of her canvases.

In Her Own Words

Available Works

A collection of original paintings available to buy as they are – ready-made works that are not personalised or commissioned.

The process can be a fun collaboration, and guests can contribute via gift vouchers to create a sentimental reminder of your wedding day.

Louisa builds each piece in layers: organic textured paper, then oxidised copper, rust and bronze patina tones, finished with paint.

Art Critique

From Place to Canvas

Commissioning a painting gives you complete freedom—choose the size, composition and photograph, with textures and even surface pattern tailored to you. Some clients even provide bark, sand or leaves from the place itself, woven into the handmade paper surface so its DNA lives within the layers.

The process can be a fun collaboration, and guests can contribute via gift vouchers to create a sentimental reminder of your wedding day.

Louisa builds each piece in layers: organic textured paper, then oxidised copper, rust and bronze patina tones, finished with paint.

“Louisa describes herself as an Impressionist, but there is an intensity about her work that is much more expressive than the fleeting impressions of the nineteenth century movement. Nature may be the source, but hers is no photographic record, rather it is a direct transportation of the feelings aroused in her by natural phenomena. Louisa doesn’t paint a sunset, she portrays the elation inherent in that experience. For her, as for Terry Frost, who also painted landscapes in abstract terms, “seeing is both looking and feeling.” Louisa confesses that, “The sky fuels the greatest emotions, I see it as an ever changing backdrop against which we live. It is immensely diverse and extremely romantic at times. I aim to evoke a similar mood….. And perhaps provoke something within the viewer which will bring them a little bit of magic.”

And there is a touch of alchemy about the technique that she has developed. Natural materials, interestingly shaped leaves and foliage, are gathered on her many walks. These are then processed into a hand-made roughly- textured paper that is layered onto boxed canvases and left to settle. No colour is involved, just textures and muddy tones. Imagination is the principle part of this process.

The Commission Process FAQ's

What sizes do you offer?

Any size up to 3 meters square. Canvases are made to measure, there isn’t a restriction on the size, but the weight does get heavier as all commissions are made with support bars to prevent warping.
